Moonray PBC

I spent four years at Moonray PBC, the Web3 gaming company, scaling community marketing from early-stage to a 170,000+ follower platform and contributing to the largest NFT mint in OpenSea history at 220,000 assets.

Four years, October 2021 to November 2025

I joined Moonray PBC as an entry-level analyst in October 2021. By the time I left in November 2025, I owned community-led growth, influencer and KOL strategy, playtest programs, and Discord infrastructure for the company. I advanced from entry-level to core marketing team member without a formal promotion track. Scope grew on the strength of consistent output.

The 220,000-asset OpenSea mint

I contributed to the largest NFT mint in OpenSea history at the time, 220,000 assets, through coordinated launch marketing, cross-ecosystem partnerships, and community mobilization in the lead-up to the event.

The thing I learned from that launch, and have written about since, is that the mint did not sell because of the mint. The 18 months of community work that preceded the launch sold the mint. The mint was the receipt, not the product. That insight informs every operating decision I make today at Makko AI.

What I drove at Moonray

  • Community scaling. Grew brand presence from early-stage community to a platform of 170,000+ followers through community-first marketing, influencer activation, and sustained narrative across Web3 and gaming ecosystems.
  • Influencer and KOL campaigns. Designed and ran large-scale outreach infrastructure that drove awareness, credibility, and holder acquisition throughout the product lifecycle. The campaigns that worked were the ones where the influencer was already engaged with our content before we paid them.
  • Playtest programs. Led end-to-end: structured participant recruitment, feedback collection, synthesis into prioritized design improvements, and reporting to product leadership. Functioned as the connective tissue between player experience and development priorities.
  • Discord infrastructure. Managed community ops, player onboarding flows, and real-time support for a live gaming product with an active holder base. 80% of the actual work was support and operations, not vibes.
  • Cross-functional marketing planning. Built campaign plans in Miro and Notion, defined KPIs, delivered performance reporting across campaign types.

After Moonray

After leaving Moonray PBC in late 2025, I co-founded Makko AI with Jeremy Bird, Tony Valcarcel, and Mike Fehlauer Hayes. I serve as Co-Founder and Director of Operations, applying the lessons from Moonray to a different kind of product.

I also co-founded Phantomline (local-first AI video studio) and ProLocalBuilder (flat-fee local websites) with Cesar Martinez and Zac Dillard.
